I’ve been teaching for over a decade, and have taught students in Knoxville, Cambridge, Chicago, Boston, New Haven, Brașov, Gangtok, and Beverly. In my classes, I emphasize engagement and accessibility.

Currently, I am teaching a year-long lecture sequence on medieval civilizations, focusing on primary sources from global cultures c. 300-1500 CE.

At Cambridge, I supervised a course in Middle English literature for Jesus College, Cambridge; taught classes on classical Persian literature; and supervised an undergraduate dissertation on race in medieval English literature. My other recent courses have included an interdisciplinary seminar called “Humans and Their Predators”; a seminar on the supernatural in global medieval literature; a year-long introductory humanities sequence on Greek, Roman, and Early Modern European literature; and elementary Persian language instruction, all at the University of Chicago.
